ABOUT US
A BRIEF HISTORY
In 1993, Jesus, the Founder of The Colours of Nature, found a small Karnataka village and a family who had handed the knowledge of natural indigo fermentation dyeing down for generations. They shared about their processes and Jesus and the team, realising the tell-tale smell of indigo fermentation was missing, brought it back to 100% natural. From our humble beginnings of four 200 litre vats to 62 submerged 1000 litre vats, no water has ever been wasted. By now, having added many different plants, we master the entire palette and employ 100+ people. With colour vibrance, fastness and eco‐friendliness the key parameters, we are known as one of the top global Expert Natural Dye Houses, and still like to do many things the old-fashioned way.

Jesus, Founder & Dye Master
Jesus Ciriza Larraona was the man with the vision and he remains the driving force behind the company. He loves
to keep his hands full by continuing to improve the various Natural Dye processes,
marketing, and can come across as something of the mad scientist, instruments and all scattering his desk.
Shanti, Production & Orders
Shanti loves a challenge and coordinates the production for various customers, including ensuring that dye schedules fit with the stitching. With her multi-year experience overseeing the various teams, nothing is daunting to her, be it the packing of boxes for export, or to listen to the requirements of a new walk-in at the office.
Juanah, Production QC & Design
Having started with cleaning, sorting and re-organising, by now, Joana has taken the company to a new level of Quality Control. She ensures that everything fits the description and is continuously training the teams. Moving steadily into a design focus, she works with other talent and is constantly envisioning new TCoN products.
Petra, Marketing & Merchandising
It has already been many years that Petra, with a corporate background in the sustainability of materials, has been involved with sharpening the communications of The Colours of Nature. She was crucial in her support of the LS&Co. Collaboratory program reporting and has since taken on Merchandising and bringing sales online.
